It should have a big bore,low RPM (all torque), no polution gizzmos, some industrial engines would be just right, as well as the older
40's flathead 6's might be OK if you can't find an industrial.

It should take more than 4 guys to lift it. HEAVY, for the front end where the weight is needed on a hard pull, no aluminum high RPM jobs, all cast iron if possible.

Don't forget you'll have to make a conversion plate for the clutch housing to mesh as well as all the adjustments for the new total length.
You'll need a workaround for the carb as it will
sit under the cowl.
