I have a small (24hp)SCUT a Maxx 24. bought it new 2013 and have about 300 hours on it. Mitsubishi 3 cyl diesel. I am generally happy with it, although some parts were not well thought out. Mine is a hi lo range hydrostatic. Needs a third range. Hi is pretty much for transport or mowing, doesn't have a bunch of pulling power. Low range is great for the grunt work but slower than it should be.
The thing has turning brakes. Why? Don't really see the need on an FWA utility, not like its a row crop. Most stupid engineering feat is to have heel toe hydro controls but to have the steering brake on the same side. You need both feet on the same side of the tunnel to use both functions
Owners manual says to check oil before each use. Raise and block the loader. raise the hood, remove the right side panel and dig around in the dark for the dipstick. They couldn't have specced a longer stick with a access port?
I looked at the BX Kubota JD and TYM before buying the Mahindra. The castings on the Mahindra are much more robust than any of the others. I am not at all unhappy with my decision and would buy another.
If you do buy a SCUT, do not get the belly mower, pain to mount and dismount and makes the machine useless for almost any other task while it is installed. Much happier with a 3 point finish mower!
