Yesterday and today I rang the bell on the 3:30 to 5:30 shift at our local Fareway grocery store for the red kettle. Fareway is a grocery chain based in Iowa and they support the Armies cause. I never did this before and I had a blast! I bought a bunch of small candy canes and gave them to both the young and old-did not matter if they gave or not. I can't carry a tune in a bushel basket but sang Christmas songs to the customers and a lot of them smiled and said thanks--a lot of them looked the other way and kept walking also. Best was the little kids--their mom or dad would give them some money-change or folding and they would put it in the kettle and I would tell them Santa was watching and ask them if they were good and they all said YES. It is fun and I look goofy but I don't care and I have another gig at 9:00 tomorrow. Some of "my friends" that came to the store asked me if I could sing far-far away--Told them I never heard of that song. It is probably too late for this year but if any of you have a chance to do this--go for it.---Tee

In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
