730 lp tractor

i have a 730 lp tractor that i dont know that much about, i bought it last year for brush hogging and bought a 6 ft sidewinder brushhog to go behind it, the pto clutch is not right, can somebody tell why i have to holf the foot pedel in with a c-clamp to get it stay engauged????pls help, i hope it is not going out, i hope its adjustable????thx steve
