The wife and I made it to 12 and went to bed around 1. Layed there for 10 minutes or so and it was like someone threw a switch. It went from fairly calm to extreme wind. Sounded like what people say a tornado sounds like. Kinda like a freight train. Strong enough it actually was rattling the windows and siding. They said to expect up to 60mph winds, and we have had that here before but this seemed stronger. Wife was getting nervous, and to be honest I was getting worried about finding some damage to the house this morning. We got lucky only lost some large limbs off a few trees. I hope this isn't some type of sign of things to come in the new year ! Oh yeah location is Western New York.
