believe it, the water can get into the engine through even slightly dysfunctional exhaust stack threads. The muffler and pipe catch rain and it runs down and into the crack. Removing the pipe and retapping the threads then using a new 12" pipe is the answer. Putting moly based anti seize compound in them will make later removal easier. Taps can be really expensive, so find someone with a 2"npt tap, or buy a cheap one on the net. Jim
