I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN ON MY FORD , THE PROBLEM WAS THE WIRES THE DEALER SOLD ME WERE CARBON CORE ,THE OLD TRACTORS NEED COPPER CORE WIRES. YOU CAN OVERCOME BY REPLACING THE COIL OR YOU CAN GET THE COPPER CORE WIRES MADE AT A STARTER SHOP.
