I've got a little Hercules flathead engine here and when I eventually put the head back on, I'm wondering if a guy should use anti-seize compound (or any type of stuff like that) on the threads before reassembling. I seem to remember reading here on the forum that adding such material could affect the torque rating and give you a reading on the torque wrench that is not accurate. The torque values in this case are 35-40 pounds on a 3/8" head bolt (not a stud/nut assembly). If not anti-seize, is there anything else that is recommended?
