Been snowing off and on all day here, and another foot or so due tonight, though I doubt if we'll see 5 feet total out of this storm. I'm less than a dozen miles off Tug Hill and about twice that from Barnes Corners, but we usually don't get quite as much as they do. Still, we'll probably end up with a couple feet, but that's hardly out of the ordinary for winter in northern NY. As ACG said, most everyone has shovels (not to mention larger equipment) and knows how to use them--the local news ran a quick spot on an old family friend tonight--79 years old and out shoveling with the same shovel he'd repaired 10 years ago. Just hope he doesn't get 5 feet tonight--he'll need a snorkel in addition to his shovel, as he's not over 5 feet himself.
