You opened a can of worms. I have a whole novel of bulb adventures with my garden tractors and my Ford Expedition. First thing, what bulbs are you replacing. Just go on Ebay and plug in the original number of the old bulb. LED replacements will pop up. There is a guy in California and a lot of his LEDs are made by Samsung. Highly recommend them. Some of the replacements are projector type. They have a lens on the front. Works very well. The LED bulbs just get warm and that is it. On all of my garden tractors I have replaced the old 1156 bulbs with LED focus beam type. SNAP are they bright. On my Expedition I replaced every single bulb with LEDs I could possibly change. The front and rear dome lines are now led panels. The map lites are led bulbs. The two puddle lamps in the side mirrors are now 194 led replacements. The third eye rear brake lite is super bright red led bulbs. The backup 1356 bulbs are now led. Lastly my 4x8 foot tow behind trailer now has RED 1157 led taillights. WOW are they ever bright. If you need more help get back to us. I can most likely steer you in some direction.
