You don't pay CL. It's not like ebay. I have people meet me right out on the driveway in full view of the neighbors. Never had a problem. I do not take them on a tour of the property. Free stuff I leave out front and it is FCFS, don't expect to see me, bring a friend to help load and don't pester me if it is gone before you get there...you won't like my response. If someone tells me they want to meet at a neutral location I send them packing. Much more likely to get into trouble that way and I do not care to deal with people who are that afraid of life. Like a scared dog, they are more likely to hurt you. I have had really good luck turning my extra stuff into $$$ on CL at no cost to myself.
