Sara, I would suggest an Allis-Chalmers WD (WD 45 if you want a little more HP). These tractors are operated with a hand clutch for the transmission-(ie you can easily stop the tractor.) The hydraulics and engine throttel are on the steering shaft in easy reach. I just looked at mine and it appears that the brakes and engine clutch can easily be modified to meet your needs. You also mount the tractor from the rear and I think you can rig something up to help you get on and off easier. You will probably want a 3pt hitch conversion so that you can use the modern implements...but those are easy to come by. These tractors are quite affordable too. Check out some pictures in the "tractor photo" section and see what ya think. If you should decide one of these are up your alley PLEASE!!!put a post on the Allis-Chalmers discussion forum. The folks over there are great and theres a very good chance one of them either lives near you of know someone who does. Im very sure anyone would be more than just a little happy to help you modify a tractor to suit your needs! LOL and I hope to see your post over ther soon! Steve
