It could be a simple leak - check the connections. However, I had a bigger problem with mine: The steel balls in the governor wore a groove in the aluminum case that eventually wore through; then the oil spit out. The solution was to get the case welded and have the inside turned to the original diameter. It has worked well for a number of years, but you need to find someone who can weld aluminum well.
