No gurantee new tires will last either. This was on a Plymouth car. Had new tires put on and Wife headed to her parents home 12 mile away. She did not get halfway till one blew. She was setting trying to figure what to do when a tollback wrecker came along. Driver tried to put spair on for her but lugs were tightened way to bad for him to be able to get off. Ended up he took her and car back to tire dealer. That new tire did not have 10 mile on it when it blew so you cannot depend on new being any safer than a used one.
