When we had drive paved I asked the son of the paver if chains would damage blacktop while plowing snow on my driveway. He said he thought it would be all right to use chains. But then I pointed to the h farmall in the yard with the tall twisted tractor chains and he said god no dont run them on your blacktop. If you have a reletivly flat area to plow you should get by if you add weight and have half decent tires.
