I think the reason no one makes your "new, old" tractor is because there is just no need for it. That reliable, easy to work on old trator you fondly remember is still around, it's just sitting in someone else's farmyard. Once you buy it and fix it up (which shouldn't be hard because it's so easy to work on), it'll still be cheaper than a new one. I can see the executive at JD right now reading our letter asking them to make the old tractors again. "Why doesn't he just buy that old 720 his nieghbor's got? He could get an old Allis even cheaper than that."
