Amatuer: The cost to covert to propane can be stiff. However, If an engine is set up on propane when new or after overhaul, It will run much cleaner than it gas counter parts. propane is vaporized completely before it enters the engine. The only combustion by products are various gases. I have seen 6 and 8 cyl., engines with well over two hundred thousand miles that were nearly spotless inside when torn down. Fuel econamy depends entirely upon how well they are tuned, maintained and the driving habits of its owner. In my experience they run cheaper, cleaner, and longer than gas powered engines. The only draw back I've ever found is, in some areas it's harder to find a place to fill up. Propane huffers have just as much power as the same engine burning gasoline, And they're economy is usually better than gasoline. Check with Gas Co.,Propane CO., they usually run on propane.
