Ok. the flywheel key is fine. I neglected to say earlier that a mouse hand nested near the magneto and ate the sparkplug wire insulation. I successfully replaced the wire, get a good spark and the spark plug is good. When I turn the motor over, I do get a bit of smoke, indicating that the fuel is making it to the piston, but it will not start. it seems to want to start in a very weak way, but won't. what next?
