That was a heck of a tractor in its day. One of the most powerful around, and durable as an ol' anvil. What you are describing isn't giving me courage about it. Sounds like there could be a whole bunch of work to get it right again. The fuel in the cylinders would have drained out years ago so you may be looking at a stuck engine. Although I have a lot of respect for Masseys, I don't really know much about restoring them. Can you get parts for that engine? It would only be a guess but I'd say $400 would be all I'd pay under the circumstances. Because of the family connection, it may be worth more to you. Good luck with it. I hope its running again in a few months. We are losing too many of the old tough tractors of that era.
