Bryan, Jump back a stage and check to see that you have fire coming out of the coil. Just pull the center wire on the distributor and hold it about 1/8" off the block. If you have spark there, your points and condensor are working. If not, give it a tune-up. Once you have spark from the coil, check each plug-wire for spark to the plugs. Sometimes a cap can short out to one or more plugs but deliver spark to other plugs. When you do your next tune-up, look for an electronic ignition insert to replace your points. These are not too expensive and have no points to corrode. Unless you pop the dist. cap, you'll never know they are there.... except that you won't have half the ignition problems. Good luck.
