Last fall I bought a 94 model MF 261 with 550 hours on it. So far it's been a good strong tractor, but it just doesn't seem to suit me. I grew up on a Ford tractor and I think it warped my mind. : ) But anyway, I saw an ad for Ford 5000 with remotes, no mention of hours, good rubber, original paint(looks good in the picture) for $7000. I think I could sell my Massey for somewhere around 10 or 11, and then buy the 5000 and be 3 or 4 thousand ahead with a tractor in the same hp class. Now I know the Ford is around 30 years old, but I really don't mind working with old iron as I've also got a '65 3000, so I realize breakdowns and repairs will come. What do yall think? Most people that I've talk to around here think I'm as crazy as a shithouse rat, but the way I see it is if the 5000 turns out to be in decent shape and doesn't have hours out the waazoo, I'd be crazy not to. What would you do?? Thanks, Casey
