Farmall H Memorial Restoration Project

Posted by Ken Christopherson on March 30, 2019 at 18:18:56 from (174.20.59.216):

Hello all!!

I have launched a project today involving the restoration of a 1942 Farmall H. I have set up a GoFundMe to help support the project (link below). The focus
of the project has three elements..

The first is to memorialize my mother, who we lost to depression and suicide nearly two years ago. It is not only a memorial to her, but a memorial to all
who have been lost due to their own mental health issues, and also as a sign of support to the family members of these victims. Once complete the tractor
will be displayed at local tractor shows, parades, etc., with a nice little display board and awareness board for others to see.

The second, is to take the remaining funds from the restoration, and donate them to a mental health awareness nonprofit organization (to be identified after
I do some research on a few I have in mind). I believe that if I can raise a good chunk of money, it will really help the organization. The donation will be
made in the names of all the donors who contributed to the project (except those who wish to remain anonymous).

The third element is to spread the awareness of our wonderful hobby. I will be chronicling the entire restoration process on my YouTube channel, and I think
this is a great way to reach the younger/older generations who are trying to get into this hobby, but feel too intimidated of the task. It really will show
that you can be a self taught mechanic with a pretty basic set of tools and still do a very nice, quality restoration. I feel that this is a good element to
include because I see it time and time again on this forum that we need to try to appeal to the younger audiences.. Well, I think that using technology is a
great way to do it.

I have included a link to the GoFundMe below, and appreciate everyone's support. Even if you are to just share it on your social media page, I think it will
help get the project moving along... I understand if this post is not allowed, but I believe it is for a very good cause. I have been coming to these forums
since I was 12 years old (am now 32), and have literally grown up learning, listening, and bouncing ideas off of all of you. Couldn't ask for a better
community to be a part of. Most of all, THANK YOU for being as great as you all are!

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
