You sure it's not a lever to operate the belt pulley gear box without bending over so far. Make sure you got all the serial number, it has some feathers later than 1940. Could be added to tractor later but wouldn't hurt to be sure. Engine serial number should match the chassis. Short oil filter housing, transmission top cover with 4 mounting bolts for seat assembly and later instrument box. Has a distributor instead of a magneto but common to find them to replace a Mag.
