Craig's list is just a classified ad listing. Nothing more, nothing less. Just like the classified ads in your local newspaper. As with any classified advertising, there will be scammers looking to make a dishonest buck off the unsuspecting. Oh, well.
Is CL better than FB? Is FB better than CL? All depends on your perspective. In essence, they are both the same thing. Personal experience can vary from person to person. Anecdotal "evidence" proves nothing.
Due to the ridiculous nonsense that folks posted in the early days of social media, I refuse to participate. I don't care what one poster had for breakfast, how he/she spends his/her day, or what kind of mood they are in today. Could not possibly care less.
Has it gotten any better? Maybe, but I am not interested at this late date. I'll stick with straight up classified ads whether on CL or in the local publications.
I will say that I have found some good deals on hard to find items on CL, eBay, and elsewhere. As the old chief once said, "some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you."
