I've been paying a lot more attention to old farm equipment lately, and have noticed something. I'm seeing 5 or 6 huge round bales of hay on what looks like less than 7 acres. Now, when we had our 30 acres bush- hogged, the guy said it wouldnt produce more than a square bale or two. Now, I know it would have to be sown, but how and why are these small fields producing so much hay? Once I find out, I may borrow some implements from a neighbor and give hay farming a shot for a year.
