In Minn , several years ago deer hunters were told to shoot them if they saw any as they were damaging so many trees. I did. My brother had loaded some 06 rounds with a cast bullet for finishing shot of deer if needed. Glad I didn't need it as it blew that porky into oblivion.

If you read about the young woman and her small child that were killed by a bear a while back. Her man came home to a bloody mess and the bear attacked him. He was carrying and shot and killed the bear. A necropsy showed bear had porcupine quills in mouth and down into gut.
