I'm not 100% sure but I think the pto shaft will have a removable snap ring that will allow you to pull the shaft out. I ran my dads LA as a kid, I sure would like to find one in good shape and pull it in the antique pulls. I would leave it stock, they were quite the puller in their day. Let me know how your coming along on your project with the LA.
