I just caught one in a live trap yesterday! It is a wire cage trap and I was concerned it might spray, but it didn't. I had a 10 foot rope on the cage and used a 10 foot pike pole to drag it over to a water trough, I picked it up with the end of the pole and immersed it in the water. After an hour I took it out and fed it to the eagles, they aren't fussy what they eat. It never gave off any smell at all. The water trough is not for livestock, it's just the overflow from the artesian well.
