The 3200A should have a distributor, with battery ignition. It should have a VH4D - 27 HP engine. The 3300B has the VG4D.
Someone may have thrown a mag on it - maybe the flywheel generation system was faulty. Or maybe it is a replacement engine.
Anyway, are you sure its bad? Did he check the points? Mags are rather robust - but points do get a non-conductive film on them when engines sit. Also, grounding the mag “shuts it off” - its not accidentally grounded?
Easy to remove - remove bolts, and pull out. take some pictures, and be sure to put it back on the right way!
