Hi Jim I pondered that same question for some time, before deciding on a MF35. I had intended to buy a Ford 8N, but came across the Massey for the same money. It's a stout little tractor with live power, and hydraulics. It has it's up side and down. The pluses are: it's paid for, has been extremely reliable, pulls a 5' hog with ease, and does most everything I ask of it. The minuses are: no power steering, hence I won't put on a loader, drum brakes - sometimes kinda hard to stop!, and the occasional oil leak.. I would probably buy a tractor with 4wd, and a loader if I had to do over again. I guess it really depends on how much you plan on using the tractor, and how much money you want to spend. Good Luck with whatever you decide on, and be safe. Terry
