Hey there! Good luck. My wife and I built our own house from scratch also. We dug the footings, laid the block foundation, framed it, plumbed and wired it, etc. I did it all. Tiled floors, built my cabinets, and on and on. So, if you need assistance or have a question please don't hesitate to email us direct. One of the best sources for me back then was a subscription to Fine Home Building magazine. I bought all the back issues also. Tantaun Press(I'm not sure of the spelling) had some books that I bought for roof framing and, I think, wirung or plumbing. Overall, they're the best source for house-building info. I had (1987 prices) $42,000US in material and the house appraised then at $150,000US. I'm still adding to it because it's my hobby. I don't really know what's in it now as for costs, BUT I do know that I couldn't have paid a contractor to build this house to the level of quality that I demanded for any amount. Good Luck!!! It's a project that's very satisfying. Tim in NC

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
