Last summer was out fishing in a boat when the shear pin broke. It was cold, windy and no one else on the water (Northern MN in Oct). Wind was blowing me to a bad place and I had no oars (I never go out without oars, but it was a buddy's boat). Only thing I das was a landing net and a bag of minnows. Dumped out the minnows and stretched the bag over the net to make a paddle, rowed two miles into the wind to get back to the landing.
