Jim ..... by the sounds of the buyer of the boat, you could have had it signed, sealed and delivered by the local judge and police chief and it's likely he would have been back for some kind of a refund. He likely does that with everything he buys, including new stuff from stores. I would say a $200 sale needs a receipt but a guy doesn't have to create a document like the constitution to keep all the money he was paid. If everyone is happy with the $25 back, then it works for me. Some guys might come skulking back for something else .... instead he's bragging it up to his buddies how he screwed the boat owner out of $25.
