Can't speak to your particular application, but if you're inventive enough, there are lots of things that can be done to adapt one machine to another. I remember a hot rod magazine from my youth... Some guy wrote in asking if he could put a Lincoln engine in a Nash Rambler. Editor wrote back and said you can put anything in anything if you use a big enough hammer! I adapted a hydraulic drive tiller for a much newer tractor to my 30 year old Deere 140 tractor. Probably works better than the tractor that it was designed for!
