Due to the location of the brake slave cylinders, if they leak, the stuff that leaks out gets into the transmission/hydraulic/rear end oil.
Common automotive brake fluid is "glycol-ether based" (whatever that is, exactly) and the guys that engineered your tractor didn't think that would be a good thing to add to the hydraulic system oil, so they specified "use only mineral oil or 10 weight hydraulic oil".
Going along with that "spec" and theory, the seals in the master cylinder and the slave cylinders are selected to be compatible with "mineral oil or 10 weight hydraulic oil".
NO reason to "buck the system", as it won't go well for you, simply check with the nearest FIAT dealer, and get a quart or two of the correct stuff.
