By the way my transmission/diferential dip stick sounds like yours. To drain the Tran/diff case there are 3 drains, one in the middle of the transmissiom and 2 where the axles join the differential(on the medial axle) On my unit the L drain plug is frozen and I haven't pushed it. The manuel says 80 SAE for the tran/diff but if there is a hydraulic pump in there( I assume it does since it has a FEL) it takes hydraulic- transmission fluid like any modern tractor. I recall my tran/diff case took ~ 4+ gal. On mine there is a fine meshed screen in the FEL return hose that is the low point and should be cleaned if you change the fluid. When I got H2O in my system this froze rendering me FEL inoperative.
