The best tractors ever were the ones that served their owners faithfully from dawn till dusk. The ones that lasted 3 times as many hours as a newer tractor will (IH 806 - ours had 24,000 hrs when we sold it). How about the tractors that are still serving their owners faithfully? I have a neighbor whose father bought a DC Case in about 1943 or 44 and he is now 75 years old and still uses it to spray his crops. Another neighbor still uses the Farmall H that his father bought new. One of my relatives still uses the H that my Dad bought used, and he ran it for 10 years before selling it. The list of such stories goes on forever, my friends. There were a lot of quality built tractors back in the day, and a few not so good quality tractors built too. I believe the most honorable thing we can do as collectors is to restore these machines to their former glory and put them back to work from time to time so our children and grandchildren can see how things were done way back when. Thank you for reading my post and God Bless. Steven@nd
