Some video of me from this spring trying to smooth and pack the loose dry soil in the oat field I planted. It was shot a couple of weeks or more ago. The oats are up pretty nice now and still looking skyward for the rain that never comes. Being planted on black summerfallow they will have a fair moisture reserve but I don't know if they can hold out the whole summer if the "no rain" trend continues. If nothing else they should at least make bales and there will be plenty of demand for that it seems.
