Thanks to all for replies regarding my problem. A few added items that may help in diagnosing: -water pump is working good -took thermostat out, no change -there is no white smoke like a cracked block -as far as the overheating, there is no "bubbling sound from it boiling, it just pushes out the overflow tube and sometimes after shutdown you will hear air bubbles in the system Look forward to any more help.
