I have experienced hydraulic problems with my 2N for about 3 years now. We have replaced the piston and new leather and o ring. We have replaced the spring and plunger and the t that the arms attach to on the 2N at the bottom. The symptoms are strange at best. No sag but sometimes does not lift at all and then when it does lift will not go down. It will hold at the top and not come down at all then 15 minutes later come crashing down all at once. This has made the hydraulics unusable. To complicate things I have a Howard reducer on the right side where the inspection hole would be. The arms did not come off easily at the bottom so not thinking that the arms are coming off the T of the plunger. Right now the top is off but not the bottom. These intermittent symptoms of working then not are making it impossible to use but looking for help on how to diagnose this. There is some brass at the bottom of the case but this may be from the Howard reducer which is a very nice feature for a rototiller! Thanks, John Ayres
