Remember the old saying, "It is better to have and not need; than to need and not have!" I got by for years without brakes, then one day I got a wake-up call!!! Went to turn into a side road from the main road with tractor, loader, harrow and a shredder on trailer/p.u. running about 20mph, the next thing happened was one little patch of shiny asphalt in a March rain and I wound up in the ditch creasing the side of my 84 GMC diesel p.u. on a sign post and was only about 6" from getting a face full of it and that episode cured me! Also most states, including Ga. have laws on the books now for trailer brake requirements that they need to enforce better, and most will sooner or later, and then you will have to spend the money in more ways than just brakes, like fines and damages, and maybe lawsuits!! Could even be a funeral for you, or your loved ones!! Gene Davis
