I think if you have everything in tip top shape, a little boost from foliar can bump things up a bit. But it doesn’t pay on commodity crops, you need a higher dollar crop.
Alternatively, if you have poorly fertilized crops, a foliar will perk them up a bit and you will feel it really helped. They look better.
In either case, money is best spent getting your soils in a well balanced state and address shortfalls with cheaper soil applied fertilizers. Do soil and tissue tests to learn what you are short on.
Then, in high dollar crops or where looks count more than volume, a foliar might pay. But, you are paying the most for getting the least amount of fertilizer so you need a reason for such a small shot.
Foliar is like a bandaid for a little scrape, don’t hope to use it to fix a broken leg type of deal.
