I hope you are right. The cost of either a new or an old tractor is a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of owning and maintaining an acreage or hobby farm. I suspect that if times get tight people will liquidate the whole hobby farm and sell most of their other expensive toys rather than switch to less expensive older tractors.
I'm now in my mid sixties, grew up just before the air conditioned cab tractors became popular. Growing up I preferred running the newer 60's tractors compared to the then already obsolete pre-1960s tractors. I don't see demand for the hundreds of thousands or millions of the still existing pre-1960 tractors ever returning until most are gone.
