Chevy made several motors in 1972 but they only put 5 of them in trucks.
250 and 292 were inline 6 cylinders. 402 was the big block. Same thing as the older 396.
Then there were two small block V8's The 307 and the 350. The only way to know for sure if it is a 350 or 307 is to get the casting number or engine vin number. I posted pictures of where these numbers are in your last post about this motor.
