It is amazing the difference that sunshine makes. I find that I can't bale for much more than 20 minutes after I lose the sun or I start to get moisture out of the ground. I am surprised that your wife lets you live so dangerously! A few years after I got started in hay my wife made me get a cab tractor to protect me from akin cancer.
