For whatever it's worth, I'm about as far from a Yuppie as you can get. I moved down here to the South 14 years ago, and took a long lease on a one acre piece of property with a beat up old house and garage. Part of my rent has been renovating them, which is what I do for a living. Now that this area has exploded in population and most of my neighborhood IS filled with Yuppies, the whole place has changed. Somehow a city sprung up around me. I've saved for years to buy my land and my tractor, and now's the time. I'm very excited about it. The kids will see a better way to live. Thanks for all the encouragement! By the way: I've met most of my neighbors at the new place and the folks in town, and haven't had a hint of resentment from any of 'em. They're all very nice and very helpful. Far cry from my "city" neighbors!
