you need to cut the head till it is level to make the job right.then put the gasket on and put a sheet of clay about .090 thick on top of each piston toqrue the head down roll the motor over about 10 times,then pull the head back of and measure the clearence.i would run around .060,if you have less then pull the pistons and have the tops machined to the clerance you want..... thats the right way to do it.check to make sure the deck on the block is level to.you could safly cut like .020 of the top of the block--- but remember to clay every thing wen your done cutting...god luck.remember if you pull the head stud,s to coat some of them with water-leek because go right to the water jacket.
