The first tractor I bought was not all that unusual, but it sure was exciting. It's a 41 Farmall M that was at a local consignment auction. I had $1,000 dollars in my pocket just burning a hole trying to get out. I figured that it would go cheap around here cause there are not a lot of collectors around here and not to many people still using them. Well of course the tractors sold last, so after a long wait in the rain. I stood right out in the open when the first bid was made at 500. I went to 600 right away. 625. I went 700. 725. I went 800. I just bid like money was no object. I got the last bid at $1,000. My heart was at full throttle. If he bid one more time I was done. He just walked away shaking his head. Sure glad he didn't have $1,001 dollars on him.
