It probably was a Fastrac. I'm certain we were running them down the street at 50 mph when I worked at the dealership. Part of the PDI, make sure the transmission shifts through all gears and moves at full speed with no funny noises. The speed limit on the street was 45 and it would pass the cars doing the legal speed limit. This would have been about 8 years ago when I left that job. The old Fastracs would do about 40 mph, the 8250's would really move along, so much so that it didn't really feel very safe going that fast in a tractor, but I'm sure once you got used to it it wouldn't be so bad. All of the foreign road wreckers around here use Fendts and JCB Fastracs. They'll pull the silage wagons and manure tanks right down US27, and I know theirs will run 50 mph because I've been stuck behind them on the highway when I'm approaching my intersection to turn on my way home.
