When I worked for the JD dealer we looked at one of those.The owner had bought it to restore,it was a little rough but sound.The final drives had extenders to place the sprockets a foot away from the original hubs.It had long cross bars,or track frame supports also for the extra width.I remember him telling us that the brake linkage for the steering clutches had been removed,or modified,the only way the brakes would work was with the pedal.It was to prevent people from trying to spin on a dime like a regular crawler.The man was doing a Linderman crawler at the time,he said the swamp 40 was next.
